The Question

How do you make room for grief when the season around you expects celebration?

The holidays repeat themselves on purpose. The same music, food, rooms and traditions return, which can make the absence of one person feel especially sharp.

Grief can sit beside gratitude, enjoyment, irritation and even relief. Those feelings do not always arrive in a clean order, and a familiar tradition may feel comforting one year and difficult the next.

Lorri will talk about memory, changing traditions, social pressure and the choices people make when a season built around togetherness no longer feels the way it once did.

Three questions to start with.

01

Which traditions still feel comforting, and which have become difficult to carry?

02

How do you remember someone when the people around you seem ready for the day to feel normal?

03
